THE WANGAPEKA.
To the Editor of thr Nelson Evening Mail. Sib, — I think the thanks of the community are due to you for having agitated the question of calling a public mefifcing i for the purpose of petitioning thd General Government to proceed with the survey of the purchased land at Wangapeka. I trust that the matter, once having been taken up, will not be suffered to fall through, but that immediate steps will be taken to prove that the public of Nelson, who, .after all, are the greatest sufferers by the delay that has talsen place, are not indifferent to the subjecr. An unanimous expression of opinion as to the necessity of at once carrying out the survey, and proclaiming the whole • istrict a goldfield must have some weight with the Government, and I know of no means by which this expression could be obtained so satisfactorily as by holding a meeting. Yours, &c, One of the Sufferers. •
