, To the Editor of tub Nelson Evening Mail. — Is there any correctness in the report that a miner had come in from the Baton having found a reef, and on application to the Superintendent was informed that he could not get protection ? If this be true, all the more reason why steps shruld be taken to proclaim the place a goldfitld, . Yours, &c., DIOOBB.
