NOTICES OF MOTION FOR TUESDAY, MAY 4. 1. Mr. Parker to move the adoption of the Report of the Select Committee appointed to prepare a Reply to t'::e Superintendent's Address. 2. The Provincial Secretaey to move, That an Address from this Council, signed by the Speaker, be transmitted to his Honor the Superintendent, requesting him to send to this Council a' recommendation to grant a sum of money out of the Provincial Revenue to meet the* Unauthorized Expenditure during the year ending 3 1st March, 1869, amounting to £2,076 Us. Bd. 3. Mr. Wastney to move for a Heturn of all Sums of Money voted by this Council to each of the Road Boards of the Province for the different years since I860; also, all Sums (if any) voted to the said Districts for Public Works and Purposes during th^ same period; together with the Amount of Rates levied and actually collected in each District for each year from the above date. 4. Mr. Hennelly to move, That in the opinion of this Council, it is desirable lo submit by Public Auction the Surveyed Town Lands on the South- . west Gold-fields; such Sales to be held in each district where the land is situated 5. Mr. Sfakrow to move, For Copies of Returns of the Number of Sheep in the Province during the past year; the Number of Clean Certificates held during that period; also for Returns of the Number of Licenses issued under Schedule D of the Scab Act, with Dates of Issue. • ; 6. The Provincial Secretary to move, That a Select Committee be appointed to take into consideration the Petition of James Jacks, and the Enclosures to the Superintendent's Message, No. 2; such Committee to/ionsist of Air. Speaker, Mr. Gibbs, Mr* Liiekie,!Mr. Parker, Mr. Edwards, Mr. M'Dowell, and tne mover. "

The Provincial, Solicitor to move for leave to bring in a Bill to amend "An Act to authorize the Superintendent to guarantee Interest upon the Capital to be expended in the Construction of a Patent Slip or Dry Dock at the Port of Nelson." 8. Mr. Donne to move, that his Honor the Superintendent be requested to furnish the Council with a Detailed Account of the Unauthorised Expenditure incurred in connection with the recent Visit of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh.
