London, May 22. The demand for money still continues moderate. Australian securities: — Victorian Six per cents., January to July, 112£ to 113£; do., April to October, 110 to 111. New South Wales Five per cents., 1071 to 1073. January to July, 110 to 112 ; do., Five per cents., 1888 to 1897, January, 97£ to 98|. New Zealand Five per cents., 1891, 98£ to 99 19|; do., Six per cents., 1891, March to September, 109 to 110. WOOL SALES. Messrs Schwartz report that the second series of colonial wool sales commenced on May. Sixty- two (?) bales have passed the hammer. There was a large attendance of home and foreign buyers. Tbe biddings were animated, and the prices, especially for faultless wools, rule above the March rates. Superior Australian washed was a penny higher. Superior greasy advanced a half-penuy. Inferior and faulty brought the same price qs at the March sales, or lower. Total arrivals, 96,857 bales from Port Philip; 57,566 bales from Sydney. The sales wiil last until 4th July.
