PRICE, and MONSIEUR ARTOT, Have the honor to announce that they will SHORTLY APPEAR IN NELSON, in their GRAND OPERATIC VOCAL AND INSTRUMENTAL ENTE RT AINM ENTS, at the above Hail, on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10, for FOUR NIGHTS ONLY, Prior to their departure for Europe. Madame SIMONSEN will Appear in Character every evening, in Scenes from favorite Operas. ANCIENT ORDER OF FORESTERS. THE u«ual ANNIVERSARY FETE of the ANCIENT ORDER of I'ORESTERS will take place on MONDAY NEXT, FEBRUARY 3, in the BOTANICAL GARDEN RESERVE. This will also be the occasion for celebrating the Twenty-sixth Auuiversary of the Province. The Members of COURT ROBIN HOOD will celebrate their FIKTH ANNIVERSARY by a Day of Recreation and Amusement, iv which they also invite the co-operaiion ot kindred societies and the public generally. The Foresters will leave their Court-room, Bridge-street, at 11 o'clock a.m., and will proceed to the Oddfellows' Hall, where they will be joined by the Oddfellows, who have very kindly signified their intention to join the Foresters in celebrating the Anniversary. They will thence go to the Gardens.where several OLD ENGLISH SPORTS will be provided, consisting of Jumping in Sacks. Wheelbarrow Races. Jingling Matches. Eoot Races. Quoits, Aunt Sally, Sec, Sec A COLD COLLATION, to be presided over by his Honor the SUf ERINTENDENT, will be provided at 1 o'clock precisely, in a spacious Booth, built expressly for the occasion. Tickets, THREE SHILLINGS each. A very excellent TEA will also be provided in the Booth, at 5 o'clock, tickets for which will be, for adults, 25.; for children, half-price. The NELSON BRASS BAND has been especially engaged for this occasion, and will play in the open air during the daj . A SPACIOUS DANCING ROOM will also be provided. There will be a GOOD DISPLAY of FIREWORKS. 2U7 GREAT SALE of SADDLERY, HARNESS, &c. OE EVERY DESCRIPTION. IMMENSE REDUCTION AND SACRIFICE OF STOCK. MESSRS PEAT & THORNTON beg respectfully to inform the public of Nelson and Marlborough of the fact that, owing to the very large Stock they have at present on hand, and' having just received, per CsSsarea, a large increase to the present siock; having made further arrangements for exceedingly large shipments, tc arrive by following vessels; and owing to thegreat danger they are exposed to by fire, it compels them to reduce two-thirds of their present STOCK AT AN IMMENSE SACRIFICE, Having Six Thousand Pounds' worth at presen on hand, they are therefore compelled TO SELL OFF FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS' WORTH AT AN ENORMOUS REDUCTION. The Goods having been purchased for Cash direct from (they can confidently say) the best Manufactories, thpy are enabled to mark them at eueh prices as have never before been heard of in the colonies; and as the Goods MUST BE SOLD they feel confident that the following List will convince the public that it is necessity that compels them to clear at such a sacrifice.
