ADELAIDE.

A scene occurred in the Supreme Court between Mr. Justice Boothby and Mr. Sfcowe, Q.C. ; the former refused to allow the latter to defend a prisoner unless he should produce his licence to appear against the Crown. Mr. Stowe refused, aud the Judge threatened to commit him; the case was adjourned. Judge Boothby, after trying to compel the attendance of the Attorny- General in the Supreme Court as public prosecutor, has confessed he had not the necessary power to do so. Parliament called together on June 15, to consider Judge Boothby's extraordinary proceeding. A quatz reef has been discovered 12 miles from Adelaide.
