THE MARTYRDOM OF EVANS.
DENNISTON AND BURNETT'S
FACE SOCIALISTS,
At a special meeting of Denniston and Burnett's Face branch of N.Z. Socialist Party the following resolution was impressively placed on its records, members rising and standing with heads uncovered :- l -
"That this meeting of comrades honors the memory of Martyr Evans, who was killed by the murderous Ma.ssey Government at Waihi on November 12, 1912, in the struggle of unionists for working-class rights, and we sorrowfully condole with Mrs. Evans and his two little children in their sad bereavement. Their grief is our grief."
It was decided to forward the following to Prime Minister Massey:—"ln tho interests of a true record of New Zealand annals, Denniston and Burnett's Face Socialist Party epecial meeting demands a public inquiry as to Waihi and the brutal murder of Comrade F. G. Evans."—E. HUNTER, President.
