CONDEMNS THE GOVERNMENT,

At a special meeting of the Wellington Operative Butchers' Union on Tuesday nigh*, the president (Mr. Sherwood) presiding over an attendance of 150 members, the following resolution w«,s passed:— , ' "That this meeting of workers cofr demns the action of the Maegey Government in placing extra police m Waihi, which has been the means of bringing about the deplorable state of affairs existing jn Waihi to-day j also demands the immediate release of out 60 fellowworkers who are unjustly in jail and who liave been put there at the bidding ©f a capitalistic Government.
