Union Prisoners and Trades Hall
* CENSURE MOTIONS BY AFFILIATIONS. TAILORS AND LABORERS HIT OUT. At a meeting of the Wellington Tailors' Union, held last week, the following resolution was carried: "That a letter be sent to the Trades Council, protesting against the action of the chairman in preventing a deputation waiting on the Minister of Justice to demand the release of the Strike prisoners." Also the following: "That this union protests against the jailing of miners at Waihi, and expresses a wish for their immediate release." To be sent to the Lxinister of Labor. At a meeting of the Wellington General Laborers iast week it was decided to vote £5 to the strike fund and to recommend the executive of the organisation to send another £50. A resolution was carried condemning the action of the union's delegates to the Trades Hall Council in regard to Mr. Reardon's blocking of a resolution to wait"upon the Government to ask the release of strike prisoners. It was decided that the delegates be asked to resign. Mr. Reardon was present, but being in permanent for three years (democratic!!!!) will not be affected by the censure.
