MORE MEETINGS OF PROTEST
'Taking- advantage, of President Webb's presence in' Wellington, thff Socialist Party organised' a, campaigner 1 protest against the unionist jailing.-.
Meetings were held on Saturday' night at street corners, the speakerbeing- Messrs. Roberts, Zander, Eagle, Fournier and Strutt.
Big booming had been done for afternoon and evening Sunday meetings', but day and night were among- Wellington's worst, wind and wet combining as they can do only in Wellington.
Nevertheless, several hundreds gathered' at the Post Office Square in the afternoon, "Jim" Roberts presiding, and excellent addresses being given by Wesley Richards (of Waihi) and G. G. Farland,
In the evening the large- King's Th-satre was half-filled-. Mr. Roberts' was in the chair, arid' the* speakers* were Mrs. J. Donaldson (an English;, suffragette) and Messrs. Richards and Webb. Each speaker rose to the" occasion, and the proceedings were most applausive. A resolution was unanimously carried demanding-the reteasa of the" union, prisoners, congratulating Waihi on its splendid solidarity and calling; upon all 1 unions, to join in the day of protest.

Mr. Webb left this week for Christchurch to. take, part in its demonstration on- Saturday.
