CHEERS FOR WAIHI I A correspondent supplies ihe fallowing to a recent Grej_io_th "gtfc-"» Yesterday, about 3 p.m. Mr. JECM-ry Holland, escorted by several member- of the uhion, blew into the shelter shed? on the wharf, where over 120 of the men were assembled in the hope of having an interesting and iitstru-tife afternoon. Needless to say, the hope was realised. Mr. Holland delivered the message of industrial unionism a_3 the fallacy of arbitration, aiid was li_W_edt to with absorbing interest for o"v%r in hour. Several questions were _he_ _nswered by tihe lecturer and Mr. Semple, who was also* present. The following resolution was then put and carried unanimously: "That this meeting of Grey waterside workers protest against the flooding of Waihi with police, ahd regard such action as an attempt to precipitate a conflict in the interests cf the gold mine-owners of New _ea___d."
