AUCKLAND INFLUENCES ADELAIDE.

At the last meeting of the Adelaide Trades and La>.bor Council, a letter was received from the Adelaide local secretary of the 1.W.W., enclosing a, circular from the Auckland local calling, attenition to the case of J. Ettor and A. Giovanitti. two Labor organisers at pr<?- ---| sent lying under sentence of death in Lawrence. Mass., U.S.A. It was pointed ' exit that during the progress of the textile workers' lock-out ia Lawrence a 'slight disturbance caused an excited policeman to fire his revolver, and a woman was fatally hit. J. Ettor was miles away from tlie spot, but lie and others were arrested, Rud the legal theory was that Ettor and Giovanitti, beiug organisers of the strike, were accessories before the fact. Tho following resolution was carried on the motion of Mr. Deanc, seconded by Mr, Baker: "That -this meeting of the Trades and Labor Council of South Australia protests in th<? name of freedom and justice against the dastardly attempts to victimise J. Ettor and others, wiose worst crime is loyalty to their fellow-workers in time of trouble." It was decided to forward copies of the resolution to Governor Foss, Mass., U.S.A., and t>he secretary of the Defence Committee, Justice Ebert, Lawrence, M3ss., U.S.A.
