MANUFACTURERS INDICTED.
CHARGED WITH PLANTING BOMBS,
CONSPIRACY AGAINST STRIKERS. (From Sydney "Sun," Se.pt, 1.) ", BOSTON. Saturday. A number of indictments have been, returned by the Grand Jury ac-iinst. several prominent textile manufacturers. They are accused of planting dynamite bombs under their factories when labor troubles occurred in Lawrence, Massachusetts, several months ago, their object being to throw suspicion on the strikers and co turn public opinion against them. The number of indictments is unknown. Later. William Wood, president of tbo American Woollen Co., tho largest textile concern in the e< untry, has surrendered to the indictment charging him with conspiring to plant . dynamite bombs at the time of the Lawrence strike. The indictment against Wood will have a decided effect on the coming trials for murder of the strike leaders., Joseph . Ettor and Arturo Giovanitti. Counsel for the accused, men declare that Anna Bapizzo, with, thn causing of whose death they have been charged, was really shot by a speoial constable. Wood has been taking an active part in working up the prosecution against the two men.
