WELLINGTON TRADES COUNCIL AND "OUR INDUSTRIAL LEGISLATION."
In July, 1912, the Wellington (N.Z.) Trades Hall Council wrote to the Sydney Trades Hall Council stating that the council could not countenance or advise the Sydney body te support the Waihi miners on strike. The Sydney Council promptly turned Waihi miners' delegate Hickey away empty-hand-ed. Tlie Wellington Trades Hall Council objects to the Waihi miners receiving support from Australia because the strike is endorsed and supported by the N.Z. Federation of Labor—a federation of r!;\-ns wh ; d> whit tV Wellington Trades Council calls "our industrial legislation." When it. is remembered that N.Z. "industrial legislation" was passed the Liberals, tho attitude of tho Wellington and Sydney Labor Councils is seen in its true perspective. They defend and endorse the legislation of the enemies of Labor—the Liberals. The Liberal anti-Labor legislation becomes "our industrial legislation" to the Labor Councils of Wellington and Sydney. If the legislation passed by the Liberals suits the Wellington and Sydney
