Mr. J. I. Fox, who resigned his seat on the Pahiatua Borough Council-ow-ing to the legality of his election .having beeni challenged, on the ground that he was not a British subject at the time of his election, has teen returned after a teen contest. He was opposed by Mr. David Crewe, ex-Mayor. .Jh© poll, taken last week, was _ record. It resulted:—J. I. Fox, 239; David Crewe, 203; majority ior Fox, Jl6. SVe expect our esteemed friend to make good.
