SMOKE SOCIAL.
On Thursday evening, dune G, after conference delegates had ended their deliberations, a smoke social was held in the Tiiiin tea-rooms, P. C. Webb presiding. A lengthy toast list was gone through, which, in addition to numerous vocal items, tended to create a iV-eling of comradeship among delegates before parting. Tho following toasts were honored: "The International Consolidation of Labor," proposed by P. Eraser and responded lo by ft. Scmple: '''The Socialist Movement," proposed by J. Huberts and responded to by E. J. Howard; '"Paris Commune," proposed by P. IT. Ilk-key and responded to by H. M. Fitzgerald; ''Striking Miners." proposed by M. J. Savage and responded to by (L H. Crowley; ''Tin: -M aouii.and Wok!;i:r," proposed by P. Frasor and replied to by R. S. Pioss; "The Federation of Labor." proposed by G. G. Farland and responded to by M. La racy. During the evening songs were contributed by J. E. Duncan. E. Power, 11. Douglas, (I. G. Earluml. W. McTTciTon, J. Huberts, and others. J. Payne, M.P.. was welcomed to the gathering, and gave a brief address.
