AMALGAMATION CARRIED.
The proposed amalgamation of tho various Laborers' Unions throughout Australia into one big union has now been carried by overwhelming majorities in Victoria, South Australia, and New South Wales; it is therefore intended to call the first annual conferonce of tho new organisation, which will bo held in Sydney on Monday, June 24. All resolutions for tho agenda paper must bo in tho hands of the secretary not later than Juno 3. We would urgo our membership to tako a lively interest in th© forthoorning convention. A3 it will be tho most important industrial conferenoe yet held in Australia. The object of tho U.L.U. is not merely to bring tbe laborers of th© various States together into on© big union, but to carry tho message of solidarity to the working-claas aa a whole. We therefore urge our comrades to elect as delegates the beet mon in the organisation to represent thorn at th© Sydney conference.—"U.L.TL Organiser," Melbourao>
