THE CAPITALISTIC PRESS.

Sir, —When you oomo to think of it, there is something extremely comical and absurd in the fact that whilo w<! denounce tlio capitalistic press, the wago-oarnors and shopkeepers continue (>o support theso newspapers by buying them and by advertising in them. Tlie sensible policy to adopt ia for tho workers and shopkeepers to support only those papers—and t4ie.ro are mighty few —ivhich consistently and persistency advocate economic justice for the robbod and enslaved masses, of tho people. If this policy were carried into effect tho capitalistic press , would soon be bankrupt. It is only right that it should be bankrupt:, for it is n very serious and a very heavy clog on the wheels of progress. The papers which battlo for economic justice would then he a mighty force for the national good. They would quickly become daily instead of weekly newspapers, and the profits could be used for propaganda work. This is a matter which the useful people of New Zetland already have in their own hands. No legislation ia required to put into immediate effect the policy herein advocated. Let us show the other countries of the world that ivo aro an eminently practical and fiensible people, and that by taking united action we can starve out of existence tho capitalistic press by boycotting it. A list of the papers which the workers are recommended to support should be published in "Tho Maoriland Worker" and the other democratic papers, including the Auckland "Liberator." Tliis question should be fully discussed at tho next conference of Labor. In the meantime, it might bo advocated at nil Labor gatherings, when the workers should be earnestly requested tn pledge themselves not to support the capitalistic press.—Yours, etc., . Chriskhurch. UNITY.
