TIMBER WORKERS' CONFERENCE.
At the annual conference of th© "Timber Workers' Association," tho following delegates were in attendance at the Trades Hall:—Mr. E. Phelan (Auckland), presiding, J. 0. Drew (Auckland), T. J. Lyons (Wellington), J. Wallace (Wanganui), 0. F. Meyer and J. 0. Ralph (Canterbury), Fred. Bicknell (South Canterbury), C. Lonnver, A. H. Humphries (Otago), T. O'Byrne, J. Alswciler (Southland). Many matters of importance to tho workers ongagod in the industry were discussed. Another question which occupied tho attention of delegates was that of unity. Messrs. Mills, M'Cul. lough, and Tregoar put the case for the scheme, whilst tho Federation of Labour's position was outlined by P. C. Webb. It was decided after a protracted di.scus.sion that the conference be represented at tho "unity" scheme provisionally.
