TRADES COUNCILS' CONFERENCE.
Tho annual conference of tlio Trades Councils was held in tho Parliamentary Buildings. Representation was as fol-lows-.—Southland, M. J. Fordo; Otago. J. T. Paul and It. Brccn; South Canterbury, J- Reader; Chnstclntroh, Messrs. Sullivan, Whiting, Burgoyno, Cordery; Wellington, M. J. Re-ardon, W. Noot, P. Muir, W. W. Naughton; Auckland, Win. Clark; Gisborno, D. W. Coleman; and Hawko's Bay, f>. Gokler. J. T. Paul wa selected chairman, and W. T. Noot secretary. The conference had a lengthy agenda to consider, dealing with amendment* to various statutes, amalgamation, Labour in polities, etc.
