G. Smith, secretary Transport Workers, reports that under instructions from his executive he visited Foxton to interview tho local Watersiders upon matters in connection, with their industry. After addressing tho Union members upon the necessity of industrial organisation, Mr. Smith had the satisfaction of knowing that tho body decided to join tlio N.Z.F.L. It ia tho intention of the Union to register under the Trades Union Act. A subcommittee was sot up to draft demands for an agreement, the same to bo approved by a general meeting, and then be handed over to tho Transport Workers' Executive to deal with.
