SEDDONVILLE BITS.

We had our comrade, Mr. P C. "Webb, addressing us on Friday, February 16. He traced tho workings of tdbo Federation of Labor, their progress •'id their success in dealing with the waterside workers and tram way men of Wellington and with tbe miners of .Whangard, Reeftoii, Waihi, etc. He also spoke of the meanness of some of our members, who grudged to give 3d. towards supporting the paper that was upholding their interests, though they would give liberally towards amusem«nts of any kind. He also spoko feelingly of women and their low rate of wages and what folio ved that state and condition of things. He finished his address with an appeal to the workers of Now Zealand not to bo afraid to support the paper that was standing out for all that was noble and good and the •mancipation of the working-class. JOHN MACKIE. Sec. Check inspectors' report of ScddonTille State Mine:—Wo examined the mine, and everything is in fairly good oondition. The air is good in every working part of the mine. We aro free from any fatal accidents, and tho general safety of the mine is very good. The management's wisdom in selecting their men for the dangerous parts contributes largely towards freeness from accidents. — Thomas Quinn, Thomas Bennett.
