MEAT WORKERS' STRIKE.
At tho time of writing, matters in connection with the meat workers' strike remain quiet. It is understood that negotiations for a .settlement are being carried on, mainly through the "instrumentality of Mr. P. Hally. Conciliation ''onimis.sioner, and that a eoni'oreme between the parlies has been arranged. Application has been made lo the Wellington waterside workers by the strikers to re-fry in from handling frozen meat arriving from the companies interested in the strike, and this, we understand, has been decided upon.
