MASSACRE AND MILITARISM.
Sir, —In the "'Evening Post" of November 11 there was an article headed "Anti-militarists," in which it was stated that the anti-militarists o.re against the building up of a force which might protect themselves and the women .and children from the fate which has overtaken numbers in Tripoli- lately. According to the papers, the reason for the massacre was revenge for heavy losses inflicted on the Italian troops by the Turkish forces, so it- must be obvious to most people "that if the Turks had. had no military foc.ee they could not have inflicted those losses'. and the massacre would not have taken place; so I fail to see whefe the "protection" comes in—.apparently in their case at any rate, about the. worst sort of protection that they could have had. —I am. etc.j Well.'. K.W.
