The usual monthly business meeting of the I.W.W. Recruiting Union (Christclrarch) was held on August 4. Air present were in good spirits, full of hope, and determined to carry on the Class War. The secretary was instructed to semd a copy of the circular to the secretary of the Trades and Labor Council. At the Socialists' afternoon meeting, in the Square, ,w-e asked for permission to take tip a collection for the fund. The result was 18s l£d, which I forwarded to the committee at Brisbane. We have had some hard fighting in this town for many months in tihe past, but are now beginning to see the effect of oui* consistent agaitation, and in the. very place that we were looking) for it— viz., the General Laborers' Union, which at their last meeting carried a resolution to sever their connection with the Trades and Laboir Council.
