At a special meeting of tho Auckland Yv a bevside Workers' Union held on Wednesday, oth hist., to hear Scott ]sennet and F. Arns, delegates from tiie Auckland branch N.Z.F.L., it was moved, after tiro speakers had left, by E. E. Oanhar.i and Geo. Bennett: '"That in the -opinion of this onion, the time is ripe for drawing_ all onions into one industrial organisation in lieu of the sectional and ineffective organhraioiu? at present existing- in n::.st :ud "st ri -s. Willi a view of "merging this Union and the whole Workers' Federation of N.Z. into one such. body, this Union insLmets its delegates to the forthcoming conference to support by vote and voice all or any remits tending to that end ; further, in the event ..f the Waterside Workers' Federation as a body declining to aikliate indus-.--.-1 ally, this Union pledges itself to take a ballot of iis members within two .uonths of the conference with a view of striking out for itself in the desired direction."
