METHODISM AND SOCIALISM.
Snt, — Ori the first page of your issue of April 20 are some remarks that might lead one "not in the know" to suppose that Methodists were great anti-Socialists. Allow mc emphatically to deny the accusation. It is true that among the leading laymen of the Church, are many who are, either through ignorance or vested interest, rabid supporters of tlte old system, but most of the ministers, especially .among the younger generation, are, if not actual Socialists, highly sympathetic with the Socialist movement. I would recommend the writer to read "The Citizen of To-morrow," a handbook on social questions edited by Rev. S. E. Keeble for the Wesley an Methodist Union for social service.
Hβ will see then that what I have said above is correct.—l am, etc., W'port. METHODY SOCIALIST*
