My own connection with Methodism began dm-ing my years as a Sunday school scholar in the 80’s, and I became an official in 1899. I do appreciate the privilege of having worked with some of the early pioneers and receiving through them some inspiration. You will pardon me for mentioning their names: Messrs John Tamblyn, Henry Toms, Thomas Grover, Sampson Uren, John Watson and Henry Bloxham —all of whom have passed to their reward. I now wish you a happy time at this function. May it enthuse us all to greater efforts, determined to carry on the work so nobly begun. Let us spare not ourselves in this work, realising that man’s life is not measured by years, but by deeds performed. Yours sincerely, THOS. P. MICHELLE.
