BOWLING

OPENING DAY On Labour Day 24th October the official opening of the Roxburgh bowling green took place. The green was officially opened by Mr T. Dunlay the president of the Club. Visitors were present from Alexandra and Millers Flat. During the afternoon Mr Wra. Hewitt, of Alexandra presented the Otago Central champion rink: —Messrs S. Orossan, F. A. Laloli, T. Dunlay and R. Bennetts, with certificates and also presented a framed certificate to the club house. Reference was made to Mr F. A. Laloli being one of the foundation members of the club.

It was also the opening day for the Ladies’ Club, the president, Mrs E. F. Allen rolling up the first ball. A very pleasant and enjoyable day was spent and the green was in first-class condition.
