(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr. and Mrs. Coup and family are on holiday at Raumati Beach. Martin Nesdale, of the Post and Telegraph, Ohaewai, North Auckland, is spending his annual vacation with his parents at Umutoi. Miss Marjorie McEwen was at home for the week-end. Mrs. Wilkinson, of Feildlng, spent a few days with her daughter, Mrs. McEwen, and Mr. McEwen. Mrs. Miller, of Table Flat, recently discharged from the Palmerston North Hospital, is convalescing at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis, of Umutoi. ■Mrs. M. McMinn has been an inmate; of the Palmerston North Hospital for the last five weeks. Her friends wish her well. The tragic death of Mr. Robert John Batchelar, only son of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Batchelar, has cast a gloom over the community. A young man of promise in the world of science, happy natured, kindly and courteous to all with whom he came in contact, his passing is deeply regretted by the many friends, who tender to Mr. and Mrs. Batchelar and their daughters, Mrs. B. Miller and Miss Judith Batchelar, sincere and heartfelt sympathy In their sorrow. Mr. B. M. Flavall has returned from a fortnight’s holiday in Bulls.
