" Arsenic and Old Lace ”
The fascinating old 'world house that has been built for this three-act thriller has a romantic old stairway with two landings, a mysterious window seat and a sinister cellar door. It was at this play that tho Royal princesses were given their first direct taste of the fun of life in England after dark, and it is stated that after the play tho princesses romped round the stage in tho highest spirits and insisted on being shown tho collar to which the dear old ladies repaired. It is considered by tho Little Theatre Society that tho portrayal of these two old ladies by Mrs. Helen Whitehead and Miss Eunice Scott is a masterpiece of coordinated acting. Miss Shirley Kingston takes the part of Elaine Harper. It is interesting to note that seven of the twelve men in the play are over six feet in height. Tho men taking part are Joe Lorigan, Len Wood, Dereck Bennett, Harry Lock, Will Sexton, Tied Aisher, Alan Fyfe, Will Nichols, George Lusk, Gordon Bagnall, 11. G. Bagnall and the unknown man. This play will be staged at the Opera House on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 21 and 22. Dress circle and orchestral stalls will be 3s and back stalls 2s,
