“ Going to Give the Japanese the Real Thing ”
Received Monday, 7.50 pun. NEW YORK, March 12. Marking the anniversary of the Fourteenth Air Force, General Cheunault declared: “From now on we are going to give the Japanese the real thing. The first year has been merely a demonstration.' ’ General Stilwell sent a message from Burma: •‘Your air force Is now a pretty tough young man. A yearago it was an under-nourished bahy. When It gets to full growth it will be the most unpopular thing in Japan, judging from its past record.” Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek sent a message thanking General Chennanlt and his men for giving hope to the Allied peoples.
