The Manawatu-Oroua Power Board met yesterday, Mr. J. Boyce presiding. Others present were Messrs J. T. J. Heatley, M. A. Eliott, J. H. Mason, W. McKay, W. P. Bickers, N. Campbell, C. G. C. Dormer, L. A. Hogg, W. R. Ilopcroft, J. A. Nash and P. G. Guy. The acting managing-secretary (Mr. E. W. Charles) reported on the accounts as at February 29, 1944, as follows: Sales of electricity: February readings, £9521 7s sd; February readings, 1943, £9303 16s; increase, £217 11s sd. Total for 10 months, 1944. £130.679 10s 2d: total for 10 months, 1943, £127,291 0s 9d; increase, £3388 9s sd. A statement on the revision of tariff, together with a preliminary statement of the year's operations, will be presented to tho board at tho April meeting. Sales for February, £514 11s sd; collections for February, £3OO 12s 9d; amount outstanding, £l7lß IBs. Bank balances: Power fund account, £22,349 7s Sd; loan account, £262 17s 2d. The engineer (M r * YT. A. Waters) reported the following new consumers during February: Lighting and heating 3, ranges 4, water heaters 4, motor for milking 1, other motors (mostly pumps) 14. industrial motors 7, additions to existing installations 9—total 42. A number of applications for permission to install electric ranges were granted.
