Sailor and Soldier Farewelled

Seaman R. Waugh and Cpl. C. Berkahn were the recipients of the Patriotic Society’s farewell gifts at a presentation in the Woodville W.I. Hall on Saturday evening. His Worship the Mayor (Mr. C. Forbes) extended the best wishes of the citizens of both town and district and Mr. D. Keay spoke on behalf of the R.S.A. The Rev. Skey officiated for the churches of the town. Both the hoys made brief replies. Mr. W. J. Henderson, president of the Kindred Sports, made that committee’s presentation to Cpl. Berkahn and* on behalf of every sportsman of the district, wished him well.
