General Notes
Following the function to Seaman Bob Waugh and Cpl. Colin Berkahn, the W.I. ( Hall was the scene of another W.I. dance. Mrs. McCormick was an efficient M.C. and other W.I. helpers were Mesdames N. M. Burnett, H. McNeil, W. Seed, Whiteman and Miss Milner. Music was supplied by Messrs. E. McNeil and G. Herrick with extras by Miss B. Bell and Mr. L. Wilton. The next dance is planned for April 1. These dances are held for patriotic purposes. Rain caused the tennis tournament between Kumeroa and Woodville over the week-end to be abandoned after only six singles matches had been decided. Of those six both sides won three each, Kumeroa, however, having the higher number of points. The teams were:— Kumeroa: Mrs. I. McKay, Misses H. Little, M. O’Neil, it. Miller, J. Foulton and J. Arrow, Messrs. Hills, Norman, Miller, Druce, Arrow and Fountaine. Woodville: Mesdames Mathews and Flowers, Misses M. McPeak, M. Hares, B. Bell and J. Fulton, Messrs. Erwin McNeil, Seeker, Kappely, Schroder and Hardy. Afternoon tea was served by the Woodville ladies under the control of Mrs. J. Horne. Another meeting was arranged for a fortnight hence.
