Obituary
MRS. JANE PARK. The death occurred in Palmerston North, recently, of Mrs. Jane Park, widow of the late Mr. William Park, both well-known and highly esteemed re.sidents of this city. Mrs. Park was born in London 77 years ago, and came to New Zealand with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tory, at an early age. The family eventually settled in Palmerston North over 50 years ago, and in the late nineties Miss Jane Tory was married-to Mr. Park, who was in business as a bookseller and stationer. Mr. Park also took a keen interest in civic affairs, and besides being a member of the Palmerston North Borough Council for a considerable period, was Mayor for a term. Mrs. Park was an active worker for All Saints' Church and a member of its Mothers’ Union for some time. Mr. Park passed away several years ago. Mrs. Park leaves a family of four —two sons, Messrs G. Park (Christchurch) and S. Park (Waiouru (M.C.), and two daughters, Mesdames E. Mentiplay (Matamata) and K. Eaton (Kaikoura).
