OROUA DOWNS The February meeting was well attended. Mrs. Oliver presided and welcomed visitors, some of them old members. Two new members, Mesdames Gibbons and Adams, were welcomed. The secretary was asked to write to Nurse Maxwell, who has returned on furlough, to Major Wrightson, ill in hospital, also to Mrs. Whailer, whose husband is ill. It was decided to hold the party for the children, and the birthday celebration was deferred to the March meeting to decide upon. Nominations for president and committee were taken, and the rest of the afternoon was spent in competitions and the serving of afternoon tea, Mrs. Smith and Miss L. Oliver being the winners of the competitions. Winners of the day's competitions were: Preserved fruit, Mrs. Marchant I, Mrs. Albrey 2; best bloom, Mrs. Procter 1, Mrs. Dench and Mrs. Gordon equal 2.
