(From Our Own Correspondent.) A successful show was held by the Women’s Institute last week, there being a particularly fine display of floral entries. Mrs. C. There was a good attendance at the Garden Circle meeting held last week, Mrs. E. Johanson presiding. Maureen and Joan Honaghan gave elocutionary and dancing items respectively. A jumbled word competition was won by Mrs. Puklowski and Mrs. F. Smith. Competitions resulted: Three beetroot, Mrs. F. Smith 1, Mrs. Clark 2, Mrs. Satherley 3; charm dahlias, Mrs. Philip 1, Mrs. F. Smith 2, Mrs. Cawood 3. Hostesses were Mesdames Archer, Wood and Closey. Competitions for next month will be three carrots and three geraniums. Miss W. Vautier, of the Napier Hospital, is spending two weeks’ holiday with her parents.
