Dye: Gay Corrie. Charlie Jenkins Dead. The death occurred on Saturday in the Waikato Hospital of Mr. Charles Jenkins, at one time the leading jockey in New Zealand, and brother of Messrs Alex and Allan Jenkins, of Otaki. He was 66 years of age. Trentham Rehandicaps. Mr. H. Coyle has announced the following rehandicaps for the Wellington meeting: Plunket Handicap: Alderman, 8.0 to 8.7. Autumn Handicap: Battledress, 8.6 to 8.9. Foxleap, 7.8 to 7.12. Tinakori Handicap: Good Cast 8.0 to 5.5. Railway Handicap: Gulf Stream, 7.0 to 7.6. Champion Hack Handicap: Keen Play, 8.7 to 8.10. Hawke’s Bay Entries. Nominations for the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s Autumn meeting at Hastings on March 25 and April 1 are due to close with the acting-secretary (Mr. H. M. Bishop) at 8 p.m. next Monday. It is to be noted that the Riverslea Highway Handicap is for horses that at the time of entry have started three times in a Steeplechase or Hurdle race, and for horses eligible to start in Hack Flat races. Riders to comply with Rule 224 A of the Rules of Racing. Manawatu Acceptances Tomorrow. Owners and trainers are reminded that acceptances for the Manawatu Racing Club’s Autumn meeting at Awapuni on Saturday week, also final payment for the Sires’ Produce Stakes are due to close with the secretary (Miss Buchanan) at 8 p.m. tomorrow.
