Woolcott Forbes On Trial in Sydney

SYDNEY, March 6. After many delays John Woolcott Forbes, once a prominent figure in Australian business, appeared in the Sydney Criminal Court, to-day for trial on nine charges involving forgery, uttering and falsification. He pleaded not guilty. Forbes was extradited from the United States to face indictments. The case has had a vast amount of publicity. The Crown Prosecutor . (Mr. T. C. Crawford, K.C.) alleged that Forbes had used forged share certificates representing £42,000 as security to raise advances. The case is proceeding.
