Pahiatua Cattle Fair
Approximately 2000 head of cattle ivcre penned for tho Associated Auctioneers’ fair at the Pahiatua saleyards and the quality of the beasts was, in the opinion of competent judges, at least us good as anything shown at the cattle fairs for years. Buyers from outside districts were prominent and took a good share of the offerings. Top price went to Air. C. B. Tylee, of Makuri, for a line of 35 beautifully bred P.A. bullocks which, after keen competition, realised £l2 ss. The fat stock was sold first and there wero buyers ready to take every pen from £8 6s to £5 for ordinary stock. Fat stock quotations were:—lo fat heifers a/c. Mr. J. Tylee, £8 lls; 13 fat cows, £7 ss; Hereford cow, £6 15s; 10 fat heifers a/c. Air. Godfrey, Rougomai, £7 17s 6d; 5 fat heifers a/c. Air. Godfrey, £8 14s; 8 fat cows a/c. Mr: Champion, £8 2s; 6 fat cows a/c. Mr. Smith, £7 2s 6d; 20 fat heifers a/c. Mr. J. Tylee, £8 10s; 6 fat cows a/c. Mr. Dodd, £6 lls; 12 fat cow’s a/c. Mr. Ernest Aliller, £7 7s; 8 fat cows a/c.
