Lytton Street School Commttee
At Monday’s meeting of the Bytton Street School Committee at Feilding the headmaster, ,Mr. W. H. Smith, reported that the roll stood at 404 with a good average attendance. The school swimming sports would be held on Friday and the judging of the root crop plots would commence shortly. The committee discussed at length the proposed new school and site, the chairman (Mr. C. V. Jewell) recalling the recent visit of members of the Wanganui Education Board to go into these matters. Certain modifications were agreed to regarding the proposed site of the new school and it was agreed to recommend these to the board. In connection with the proposed establishment of an intermediate school it was agreed that nothing could be done until such time as the Department of Education advised that such a school was contemplated. It was resolved that on the receipt of any such intimation the commit--1 Lee would take the opportunity of calling parents together with the object of the position being fully explained.
