Palmerston North Girl Guides’ Association
Mrs. H. Findlay Wilson presided over the March meeting of tho Palmerston North Girl Guides’ Association. Mrs. J. H. Whyte’s acceptance of tho office of vice-president was received with pleasure and grateful acknowledgment made of a donation. A roster of duty for carteeu duty was arranged. Mrs. E. W. Mills (Divisional Commissioner) reported that Mrs. Holmes, Provinieal Commissioner, had been well pleased with her visit to the district. She intimated some of the business that had been transacted at the recent provincial meeting including the suggestion of a rally to be held in Wellington. Matters concerning the Brownie Revels were discussed and suggestions approved. Preliminary arrangements for the national rag drive were indicated. It was reported that St. Andrew’s Company Committee was holding a parents’ evening. Rongotea Company has now been taken over by Misses Luxford and J. Churchill. Miss J. Mawson has taken charge of Nga Tawa (Marten) Company with Miss Mona Bisley as first lieutenant. Levin is forming two companies and a Brownie Pack. Approval was given for All Saints’ Company to hold a jumble sale.
