On Wednesday evening last Mr. and Mrs. T. Warner of tne ueiioign Motel, rending, were guesrs at a xarewen party ui tne resilience of Mr. ana Mrs. Ij. m. Keienenuacn, of TTewm Street, wnen a large uumoer of mentis attended to say au revolt to tlie departing guests wno are snortly leaving for Auckland. The evening was spent in progressive live liuuareu for wnicU the ladies' prize was won by Mrs. G. WilKinson and tlie men's by Mr walker himself. After supper the toast to the guests of the evening was proposed oy Mr. lteiehenoaek wlio referred to the sterling qualities of Mr w alitor during the brief years lie liad resided in Pointing as mine host of the Feilding Hotel and more recently of tlie Denuigh; the speaker also mentioned tlie esteem in which the Walker family was held in the district and expressed regret at tUeir departure. Mr. Peichenoach concluded by apologising for the unavoidable absence of friends. Mr. Walker tliamted the hosts, Mesdaraes .KeiciieubaeU and Barnard, Miss McHardy and Mr. Keichenbach. Me greatly appreciated the kind sentiments which had been expressed and said that he and members of his family deeply regretted their departure from Feeding and extended a welcome to friends to visit them in the new home which they oxpected would be in Auckland. An amusing interlude was the presentation of an illuminated address and farewell honours to Mr and Mrs Walker which were presented in a distinctly humourous vein by Mr. C. A. Corder on behalf of those present. The ceremony included the handing of miniature barrels to Mr. and Mrs Walker.
