Inter-House Associaton for Pahiatua

For tho purpose of hearing executive members of the Wairarapa Inter-House Association and, if desired, to form a local association, a meeting was held on Thursday evening. The visitors, Messrs G. Daubney (chairman), F. Stains, J. Bruce and G. Davis (secretary), were welcomed by the Mayor, Mr. S. J. Judd, who also referred to the offers of assistance of Sergeant-Major Stanton. Mr. Daubney, on behalf of his association, offered willing help. He outlined the history of the movement in Masterton and mentioned some of the large amounts of money raised for patriotic purposes. It was resolved to form an association in Pahiatua and a tentative committee was elected, comprising Miss E. Osborne (club captain), Miss P. Brabner, Miss B. Paget, Mrs. Arthur Judd and Miss May Britland (secretary). A further meeting is to be held as soon as Mr. S. J. Judd aud Mr. W. G. Scott ascertain the support forthcoming from the business men of the town. The meeting decided to accept the services of Sergeant-Major Stanton who had offered to get behind the movement and assist in every way he could training and instructing the teams. Mr. Judd thanked the visitors for their attendance and explanations which, he said, had been fully appreciatod.
