Tangimoana

(From Our Own Correspondent.) On Saturday evening Mesdames Hands, Grinstead and Larsen arranged a social and dance, the proceeds from which are to be handed to the local Patriotic Guild. Music for dancing was supplied by Mr Bramwell, with extras by Sergeant Rogers. Mr Chandler was in charge of the euchre, the . winners being Mr Frank Spry and Mrs Carkeek. Assisting with the programme were Mesdames Hands and Grinstead, Messrs Norman Dixon and E. Pillinger (vocal numbers). June Larsen and Lisa Grinstead (recitations), Shirley Larsen and Vincent Larsen (songs). A presentation was made recently to Mr Harold Weld, the local bus driver who has since entered camp. Members of the Merrymakers Club presented Mr Weld with a ■ money belt and he was the recipient of a further gift of knitted comforts. The ladies of Tangimoana also made a small presentation to Mrs Weld who is now residing in Palmerston North. Mrs J. R. Mochaii and her two younger children are spending the school vacation at their beach cottage. Mrs Mochan’s visitors included Corporal and Mrs J. Bougen (formerly Miss Ursula Taylor, of Tangimoana) who now reside in New Plymouth, where Coroporal Bougen is on the Air Force staff. Mr and Mrs Lance Weld and family of Palmerston North are spending a fortnight at Tangimoana, Miss Margaret Bedingfleld of Palmerston North is staying with Mr and Mrs J. V. Kyle at their beach cottage, where Mrs Kyle is convalescing after her recent operation. Mr Clive Wright of Palmerston North, js spending a holiday at the beach as the guest of his sister Mrs M. D. Hands. Mr and Mrs J. L. Stuart recently returned home from Raumati where Mrs Stuart has been teaching since the beginning of tl*e year. -Mrs Stuart is away on. a visit to friends and relatives at Pohangina. Mrs Luxford, Miss Margaret Luxford and Mrs Currie ; and her two small children have taken a cottage at Tangimoana for a short period.
