Acute Food Shortage in Italy
MUSSOLINI BLAMES SPECULATORS Received Wednesday, 9.20 p.m. ROME Sept. 2. Mussolini presided at a meeting consisting of the Governor of Rome and the mayors of 24 leading towns. He also telegraphed to a meeting of 5000 syndicaliete in Milan stating that he was fully aware that the food shortage in the big industrial centres . was becoming acute, attributing this to speculation and unscrupulousness which, he said, would be punished.
