800 Men to be Released For Dairying Industry
Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH. Sept. 2. The War Cabinet has promised that the services of 800 men will be made available to the dairying industry in New Zealand to meet the present shortage ol labour, according to information received to-day from the president of the Taranaki Dairying and Farming Industrial Union of Employers (Mr. W. E. Scott) who is also a member of the Dairy Board. Mr. Scott m&ae representations regarding dairy factory labour difficulties to certain Ministers of the Crown and today interviewed the War Cabinet. The War Cabinet Jias promised to make Taranaki’s requirements available immediately and has promised to arrange for release from tho military camps of the men applied for.
