Recaptured Chinese Air Bases

LONDON, Aug. 31. Ths Japanese retreat In toouth-East China continues. The Chinese are restoring the captured air bases of Chuhslen and Lishui. in the “bomb Tokio" province of Chekiang, and are now within a few miles of the third air bases at Kinhwa.

The Chinese have reoccupled Sungyang, 40 miles west of Lishui, destroying half the Japanese defenders and driv.ng tire remainder eastward. Farther soutl, the Chinese, in their latest offensive, ate reported to have driven to within 30 miles of Canton.
