Feilding R.S.A.

1 A meeting of the executive committee of the Feilding R.S.A. was held on Thursday evening last. Those present included Messrs W. G. Booth (chairman), C. H. Tate, H. D. Richardson, C. H. Robson, Z. McLeod, H. Dew r e, C. H. Fry, T. Donaldson and C. A’. Jewell (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs F. J. Allen (president) and N. M. Ingram. Prior to the commencement of the business of the meeting, the committee stood in silence: a motion of sympathy and,respect to the Royal Family in the recent death of H.R.H. the Duke of Ivent. Correspondence was roceived from the Dominion secretary with reference to the formation of a women’s section of the R.S.A., suggesting that the local secretary write to various other branches obtaining information as to their views and experience on the formation of this section, and if possible to obtain a copy of the rules of the New Plymouth branch. The news of the transfer of Sister E. T. Smith to the Thames branch was received with regret. It was agreed, at the request of the Patriotic Society, that the association would organise and conduct another house-to-house canvass of the borough in connection with the present patriotic appeal. It was decided that the date lof the collection be Monday, September 28, and in accordance with this a circular be prepared for distribution to all householders. Two new members wore elected, namely, Messrs T. R. Usmar and R. H. Merritt. question of the rehabilitation of boys from the Army was discussed but no motion was passed, it being decided to let the members think the matter over and to supply the secretary w*th any suggestions at a later date. " It was learned with regret that a newly-arrived returned man in the district, in the person of Mr. Littler, of Aorangi, had died during last week. Arrangements had been made fon a wreath to be sent and a representative of the association to be present at the funeral.
